Over the last two years, I’ve been adding all types of accessories to my desk, whether it was a ring light, phone stand, or a quick-responding wireless mouse, in the hopes of maximizing my around-the-clock comfort, online performance, and daily entertainment. I started to think I had everything I could possibly need, but then I received a free review unit of the latest Razer Leviathan V2 for testing, which is now available on Razer’s site. I love it, but so do my brother and my grandma, proving this low-profile and easy-to-use speaker can be the ultimate entertainment gift for anyone in your life. The system has a compact soundbar measuring 19.7 x 3.6 x 3.3 inches and a subwoofer measuring 8.67 x 8.67 x 9.5 inches. The soundbar sits on your desk and can fit comfortably under most monitors. It comes with a second pair of raised legs if you want to adjust its angle, and it also has the signature Razer RBG lighting component, with a thin bar of light that highlights the base. The subwoofer is shaped like a square and can sit on the floor under your desk. Overall, the whole system does not take up a ton of space.If you’re unsure of what a subwoofer is, don’t worry: it doesn’t require any complex steps or configuration on your end. It just ensures the lowest frequencies come out sounding well, and it’s a big part of what makes the sound crystal clear. The Leviathan V2’s whole setup process is super simple, only requiring you to use three included wires: one to connect the speaker to a wall outlet, one to connect it to the subwoofer, and one to connect it to the USB port on your computer. The wires are thin and flexible, so they were easy to hide.
Sound Quality
Once I connected the speaker, I simply pressed the power button to get it running. I tested its sound quality by watching an entire TV series and playing video games while using it. The speaker made both experiences feel more immersive, with the audio coming out crisp and powerful. I was impressed with how loud I could make the speaker’s volume without the sound becoming distorted or any of the words becoming difficult to understand. I also loved that it was unobtrusive on my desk. I also had my brother test the speaker out, and we both agree: our desks practically transform into a home theater when we use this speaker. Needless to say, this audio system is a game-changer for anyone whose desk is their hub of entertainment.

There was one more person I wanted to have try the speaker: my grandma. My grandma’s hearing is not the best, but she loves to watch YouTube videos and the occasional movie on her computer. Consequently, she’s always maxing out the volume on her computer. Like many devices, her computer’s sound starts to lose clarity at really high volumes. I set this speaker up at her desk, hoping she would appreciate that it could take the volume past what her computer could offer, all while not compromising the clarity of the sound. I was right. My grandma was in awe over how much better everything sounded. She was so happy the sound was free of any “fuzziness,” and said she didn’t realize what she was missing out on by just relying on her computer’s built-in audio.
